This course covers the level 1 curriculum basics as well as getting into more advanced maneuvering and safety/rescue techniques with subjects in the water. This course is designed for operating in a low to medium risk environment, which would include class 1 to 2 rivers. In class 1 river environment, maneuvering around objects/hazards in the water, and high-speed avoidance maneuvers are the focus. In a class 2 river environment, reading water and avoidance maneuvers are a focus. Additional training includes man-overboard and injury recovery techniques. This is a two-day practical course. Level 2 Swiftwater Safety Rescue certification is required prior to boat training.
