Course Overview

Awareness is the introduction to confined space rescue. Awareness certification is the online course and will be included with all levels of certification. The online course is expected to take 2-3 hours to complete. The course objectives are to make all participants aware of the hazards, control measures and requirements to conduct a size up at a confined space rescue incident.

Course Details

This awareness course is designed to give the participant the theory and introduction into the confined space rescue environment. Confined space rescue can be considered a rope rescue evolution in a high risk, confined, toxic environment.

This course is designed to be completed in conjunction with the rope rescue awareness course. This course will introduce the hazard and risk assessments, atmospheric considerations, command structure, PPE, patient requirements and the foundation to complete a size up at a confined space incident.
