Fall Protection Level 2

Course Overview

This course is designed for organizations whose personnel must work in a vertical environment using systems set up and operated by another qualified team. For example, an engineer may need to be lowered and raised on a fixed system to inspect rock‑scaling operations. This is not a rope rescue course, but a work‑at‑height access program focused on safe participation within an existing rope system.

Course Details

The Level 2 Access course builds on all Level 1 fall protection content and adds the skills required to work safely while suspended on rope. Participants learn to recognize and use the equipment and techniques needed to lower or raise a human load in both industrial and wilderness environments. Training also includes performing safe edge transitions and working effectively in a vertical setting.

This course can be tailored to the specific tasks and operational needs of your work environment. Duration is typically 1–2 days, depending on participant numbers, worksite conditions, complexity of evolutions, and selected instructional modules.
