Course Overview

Rescue from water bound vehicles may result from Motor Vehicle Incidents (MVIs) or flooding events. Vehicles in the water will present with some unique high-risk hazards and rescue challenges. The training options available will target specific skills and environments that the rescue providers can expect to be operating in.

Course Details

The online awareness course is an introduction to hazards and rescue objectives for Motor Vehicle Incidents involving water. This online course is expected to take 2 hours to complete. The course objectives are for rescue responders to complete a rescue scene size up and:

  • Establish command
  • Identify hazards and priorities
  • Establish control zones
  • Determine operational mode
  • Identify required resources.
