Water Bound Vehicles Level 2

Course Overview

Water Bound Vehicles – Level 2 is designed for responders with a third‑party rescue mandate to perform rescues from vehicles in both static and moving water. Participants must have an Auto Extrication background and must have completed Water Bound Vehicles Level 1 and Swiftwater Rescue Level 3. Students are also required to demonstrate self‑rescue skills, competent throw‑bag use, and safe operation in Class I–II water.

Course Details

The practical objectives of this course are to perform the following tasks in moving water:

  • Establish a command structure
  • Access the vehicle
  • Stabilize the vehicle in place
  • Extricate the subjects from the partly submerged vehicle
  • Transport the subjects back to shore OR remove the submerged vehicle from the water
