Billy Harris

Billy started teaching in the late '90s. He was a safety kayaker for multiple rafting companies globally. As a safety kayaker, he was responsible for keeping people safe through a proactive approach and planning. Billy quickly slipped into expeditions, made multiple first descents worldwide, and found himself on the CDN Freestyle Kayak team. He was a member of that team for about a decade and now coaches and teaches. A handful of years ago, Rescue Canada asked him to assist with courses, helping with rigging, people management, and logistics. Rescue Canada likes to have a high instructor-to-student ratio. Billy started learning about the program, and over the years, I picked up IRIA certifications for instructing and now instruct some of Rescue Canada's courses.
