Clayton Williams

Clayton Williams hails from Calgary, Alberta and makes his home in Canmore, Alberta. Clayton grew up paddling with his family in the Bow Valley, and at camp in the summers. His foray into the paddling industry began at camp, where he ran youth trips in northern Alberta and managed the waterfront. He spent many years lifeguarding and teaching lifesaving for the city of Calgary, Fernie, and Canmore, while fighting fires on a Heli-Tack crew during the summer months. With a deeper progression into first response, guiding, and instruction work, Clayton moved into SkiPatrol, White Water rafting, and White Water Adventurous Training for the British Military. His education is based on leadership, outdoor pursuits and emergency response. Completing the MAST certificate in Fernie, Clayton gained more than five years as an Advanced Care Paramedic and class 2 Structural Fire Fighting 1001-1006 certifications. He settled in Canmore and while raising a family, Clayton maintained his passion for leadership, instruction, and white water by gaining his Instructor Trainer status with Paddle Canada, providing over a decade of work with Rescue Canada, and teaching Wilderness First Aid for Wilderness Medical Associates. In 2017 he completed his Diploma in Mountain Medicine through the University of Utah, and before that, completed a Wilderness Advanced Care Certification. In 2020 Clayton established Green Tongue Adventures. His company is contracted to agencies to deliver training for river guides and the public in skills courses, Wilderness First Aid and River Safety. They also provide expeditions for the public and in support of mental health non-profits. Clayton loves the opportunities that come from being a part of Rescue Canada and is very proud to be a part of this group
