Gabriel Cote-Valliquette
Gabriel Côté-Valiquette is an outdoor professional based in Fernie, BC. He works as a professional ski patroller at Fernie Alpine Resort in the winter and teaches swiftwater rescue courses for various groups in the summer. He is also an auxiliary faculty for the Mountain Adventure Skills Training (MAST) Program at the College of the Rockies, where he teaches whitewater kayaking, swiftwater rescue, and risk management. In addition, Gabriel manages a seasonal outdoor stewardship program for Tourism Fernie.
Since 2007, Gabriel has worked in the adventure tourism industry as a guide, instructor, and program manager, primarily in whitewater environments. His passion for whitewater kayaking has taken him to rivers around the world, including in Quebec, British Columbia, the United States, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Chile, Nepal, China, and Iceland. He is passionate about risk management, decision-making in complex environments, and helping outdoor professionals build the skills and judgment needed to operate safely in river environments.
