Do You Service or Repair Equipment Purchased Elsewhere?

Service Work That Goes Beyond Where You Bought It

You don't need to have purchased your equipment through Rescue Canada for us to service or repair it. Our repair specialists work on drysuits and personal flotation devices from a range of manufacturers, which means you can bring in gear you bought years ago from another supplier and get the same quality of service and attention we'd apply to equipment we sold ourselves.

This matters because a lot of rescue and safety professionals accumulate equipment from multiple sources over the course of a career, whether through employer-provided gear, personal purchases, or equipment inherited from a previous role. Having a single, reliable repair shop that handles service work regardless of origin saves you from having to track down manufacturer-specific service centers every time something needs attention.

What Our Repair Services Cover

Our shop handles the full range of drysuit and PFD maintenance and repair work. That includes comprehensive drysuit pressure testing to identify leaks and weak points before they fail in the field, cleaning and wax treatment to extend the life of your suit's material, and gasket treatment to keep neck and wrist seals performing properly.

We also handle leak repairs, from minor punctures to more significant damage, along with gasket replacement across wrist, neck, and sock gaskets as needed. For repairs that fall outside our standard service list, including specialty work like zipper replacement, fabric bootie repair, or seam repair, our team assesses the specific damage and scope of work required before proceeding, since every suit and every repair situation is a little different.

Why Regular Service Matters

A drysuit or PFD that's slowly failing doesn't always announce itself clearly. A gasket that's gone stiff and slightly brittle might not obviously leak yet, but it's on a trajectory toward failure, often at the moment you can least afford it. A small leak that seems minor and manageable changes how your body handles cold water exposure if a situation goes sideways, turning a controlled operation into a genuinely dangerous one.

Regular inspection and service isn't just about extending the life of expensive equipment, though it does that too. It's about making sure the gear you're relying on for genuine safety protection actually performs the way it's supposed to when you need it most. For professionals working regularly in cold water or ice environments, that's not a minor consideration, it's central to the whole point of wearing the equipment in the first place.

Our Repair Specialists

Rescue Canada's repair team brings the same field-tested expertise to equipment service that our instructors bring to training. We understand how this equipment actually gets used and what failure points genuinely matter in the field, not just from a manufacturing specification sheet but from decades of watching how gear performs, and eventually fails, under real operational conditions.

What to Expect When You Book a Repair

Every repair starts with an honest assessment of the equipment in front of us. Our team inspects the suit or PFD, identifies exactly what's causing the issue you've noticed, and flags anything else that's showing early signs of wear even if it wasn't the reason you brought the gear in. We'd rather tell you now that a gasket is getting close to needing replacement than have you find out the hard way in the field months from now.

That thoroughness is part of why professionals across resource management, emergency services, and adventure tourism trust our shop with equipment that genuinely matters to their safety, not just their comfort.

Booking a Repair

If you've got equipment that needs attention, whether that's a routine pressure test and gasket treatment, a specific leak you've identified, or something that just doesn't feel right anymore, reach out to our office or submit a repair request through our Repair and Service Form. Our team will walk through what your equipment needs and get you scheduled with our repair specialists.

Protecting Your Investment and Your Safety

Rescue and safety equipment represents a real investment, and proper maintenance protects that investment just as much as it protects you in the field. Whether your gear came from Rescue Canada originally or from another supplier entirely, our repair shop is here to make sure it keeps performing the way it's supposed to, for as long as it reasonably can.

If it's been a while since your drysuit or PFD had a proper inspection, or if something's been bothering you about how it's performing, don't wait for a field situation to reveal a problem you could have caught in the shop. Get in touch and let our repair team take a look.
