About Rescue Canada
Who We Are
Rescue Canada is a national leader in professional rescue and safety training. For over 40 years, we’ve helped individuals, emergency teams, and organizations develop the skills and confidence to respond safely and effectively in high-risk environments.
Our certified instructors deliver hands-on training that meets or exceeds national and international standards — ensuring every graduate is qualified, capable, and ready.
History
Founded in 1988 by Jim Lavalley, Rescue Canada began as the Canadian agent for Rescue 3 International and quickly became a pioneer in performance-based rescue training.
Over the years, our programs have expanded to include Swiftwater, Rope, Ice, Boat, and Helicopter Rescue, as well as First Aid and Youth programs.
Today, we continue to innovate in the field of rescue education, developing standards and course materials that set the benchmark for safety and skill development across Canada.
Our Team
Our instructors are more than teachers — they’re experienced rescuers, guides, and industry professionals who bring real-world expertise to every course. Each member of our team is certified, passionate about safety, and committed to helping students achieve their highest level of readiness.
